Main Scripture

Acts 19:19

“A number who had practiced magic arts brought their books together and burned them publicly…”

Devotional

In the book of Acts, when people encountered Jesus, they didn’t just believe—they changed. They removed anything from their lives that pulled them away from God.

They didn’t sell those items. They didn’t store them away. They destroyed them. Why? Because you can’t fully follow Jesus while holding on to what’s pulling you away from Him.

Today is about honesty. Not with others—but with God. What is in your life that needs to go?

Action Steps

  • Ask God if there is anything in your life that is pulling you away from Him
  • This could include apps, social media, music, entertainment, habits, behaviors, or unhealthy patterns
  • Delete apps or accounts
  • Remove music or content
  • Throw away harmful items
  • Walk away from unhealthy patterns
  • Do not sell or pass on what you know is harmful

Social Challenge

If you choose to share, post something like: “Letting go of what doesn’t belong so I can follow God fully.”

Faith in Action

The people in Acts didn’t negotiate with what needed to go. They didn’t ask, “How close can I stay to this and still follow God?” They chose freedom. What you remove today creates space for what God wants to do next.

Prayer

Lord, show me anything in my life that is not pleasing to You. Give me the courage to let go of what is holding me back. Cleanse my heart, renew my mind, and help me walk in purity and freedom. I choose You above everything else. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Journal Prompt
