Main Scripture

Psalm 101:3

“I will not set anything worthless before my eyes…”

Devotional

Over the past 19 days, you’ve been praying, serving, encouraging, and stepping out in faith. But today is different. Today is about being with God.

Not doing. Not performing. Just being.

In a world full of noise, distraction, and constant input, it’s easy to lose focus. That’s why fasting matters. Fasting is choosing to remove something so you can make more room for God. It’s not about rules—it’s about relationship.

Action Steps

  • Ask God what is distracting you from Him
  • Choose something to fast today: social media, TV/streaming, music, gaming, or certain foods if appropriate
  • Use the time you would normally spend on that thing to pray, read Scripture, sit quietly with God, or worship
  • Take intentional time today to slow down with no phone and no distractions

Social Challenge

Take a break from posting today. If you do share, keep it simple: “Taking time to refocus and be with God today.”

Faith in Action

God doesn’t just want your activity. He wants your heart. It’s possible to do all the right things—and still miss closeness with Him. But when you slow down, remove distractions, and seek Him, you begin to experience His presence in a deeper way.

Scripture Reading

  • Psalm 101:3
  • James 4:8

Prayer

Lord, I choose to draw near to You today. Remove distractions from my life and help me to focus on what matters most. Speak to me, shape me, and renew me as I spend time in Your presence. I want to know You more—not just do things for You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Journal Prompt

  • What did I choose to fast—and why?
  • What did I notice when I removed distractions?
  • How did I experience God differently today?

Quote

“The quieter you become, the more you can hear.”
