Main Scripture

1 Samuel 17:45–47

“The battle is the Lord’s, and He will give all of you into our hands.”

Devotional

David stood in front of Goliath—a giant that no one else was willing to face. Everyone else saw size, strength, and fear. David saw God.

In the same way, every school—and every life—has giants. These are the problems that feel too big: addiction, fear, sin, broken relationships, and darkness on campus.

But here’s the truth: the battle is not yours—it’s God’s. You are not fighting people. You are standing in faith against spiritual darkness. Today is about identifying the giants—and bringing them before God.

Action Steps

  • Ask God what the biggest struggles are in your life and on your campus
  • Examples: drugs/alcohol, sexual sin, bullying, anxiety/depression, violence, division, personal struggles
  • Write them down
  • Bring each one before God in prayer
  • Ask Him to break their influence
  • Declare truth over lies
  • Find a rock, mark or paint it, and place it somewhere visible as a reminder that God is defeating the giants

Social Challenge

Post a verse or reminder like: “We don’t fight against flesh and blood…” (Ephesians 6:12).

Faith in Action

David didn’t wait until he felt ready. He stepped forward in faith. Giants don’t fall because of strength—they fall because of trust in God. Every prayer you pray today is not small. It is part of something bigger. God is already working.

Prayer

Lord, today I bring the giants in my life and my school before You. Show me what needs to change and how to pray with boldness and faith. I trust You to fight the battles I cannot fight on my own. Let Your power overcome darkness, and let my school know that You are God. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Journal Prompt

  • What are the biggest struggles on my campus?
  • What would it look like for God to bring victory in these areas?
